Employment

The Napier Kindergarten Association is committed to good employer practices for all of our staff.

We offer:

  • a provisional teacher registration support programme.

We require all staff working with or near our children to be Police Vet checked. Registered teachers are Police Vet checked by the NZ Teachers Council as part of the teacher registration process. Our teachers and teacher aides must have a current first aid certification.

All permanent teaching positions are advertised in the EduGazette, application packs available on request. Anyone interested in working for the Association in any other capacity should contact the Association's General Manager.

Teachers - we employ 100% trained, registered Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers for teaching children.

Relieving Teachers - we employ a pool of trained, registered Early Childhood Education (ECE) relieving teachers on both a casual and long term basis to provide additional support or coverage for absent teachers.

Kindergarten Support Workers - we employ in each kindergarten part time support workers who assist the teachers with housekeeping duties, preparation of craft materials etc.

Administrative Support Staff - we employ a small team of administrative staff to assist the Management team with administrative tasks. 

Cleaning and Maintenance Staff - We employ staff for some cleaning and maintenance duties within our kindergartens.

Management Staff - we employ a General Manager, Finance Manager and two Education Managers (Senior Teachers)
