Te Awanga Kindergarten shares its water supply with Haumoana School. Water testing has possibly identified water contamination. Te Awanga Kindergarten is providing safe, bottled or boiled drinking water, at the kindergarten. Hand washing and drying is being supervised and hand sanitizers applied by teachers to the children prior to eating. No gastro illnesses have been reported in the community. At this stage, and in consultation with the Ministry of Education and health agencies, we will continue to keep the kindergarten open.
