Tamatea Philosophy:
To create an enthusiastic, caring and joyful culture for learning. We actively engage and encourage children in questioning, problem solving, working together, and being open to learning and taking responsible risks while responding with laughter and wonderment. Our Vision We encourage families to be involved in the kindergarten’s culture for learning, which incorporates the habits of mind and virtues programme. Our Mâori Vision: To inspire Maori children to Tū Tangata, stand tall with Mana and the freedom to live as Tangata Whenua in Hauora, wellness to achieve high hopes and aspirations. Our Favourite 2009 ERO Comment: ‘The philosophy of the kindergarten and the virtues project is reflected in the learning programme and the positive and respectful relationships evident among children and adults.
