Te Awanga Kindergarten

Welcome To Te Awanga Kindergarten

Our modern kindergarten is nestled in the close knit communities of Te Awanga, Haumoana and Clive, situated on an idyllic site with a stunning backdrop of vineyards, sea views and inland views of the ranges. Our kindergartens' uniqueness reflects our families' friendly, relaxed lifestyles and our affinity with the natural world is evident in our environment. We share parent's aspirations for their children to enjoy an early childhood education experience that reflects the community in which they are raised and we warmly welcome children, parents and caregivers into our centre.

We welcome enquiries from parents who are interested in place sharing or accessing less than 5 days per week.

Our Favourite 2015 ERO Comment:

Children benefit from positive, responsive, affirming relationships with others. Their sense of belonging is fostered. Families’ cultural backgrounds are acknowledged and celebrated. Teachers make use of their knowledge about children and their lives outside kindergarten to add to their experiences.

The child-initiated curriculum has an emphasis on literacy, numeracy and Enviroschools. Children have some good opportunities to lead their own learning and sustain their play. Their independence is encouraged and they enjoy the company of peers. Children help, take turns and care for their environment. Teachers are responsive to their interests and needs.

Testimonial:

'My granddaughter has loved every single moment of her two years at Te Awanga kindy. There is surely no higher recommendation than that!

I believe she feels like that because the teachers there achieve the perfect balance of fimness, fairness, kindness and fun as the children engage in the huge array of activities they make available.

Add to that the beautiful country-coastal setting and an appreciation of the natural world, and what better environment could there be for a child's early learning and awareness of social values.

What a great start these children get!'  Lynda J,
