the joy of teaching, the love of learning

Te Awanga Kindergarten

Welcome To Te Awanga Kindergarten

Our modern kindergarten is nestled in the close knit communities of Te Awanga, Haumoana and Clive, situated on an idyllic site with a stunning backdrop of vineyards, sea views and inland views of the ranges. Our kindergartens' uniqueness reflects our families' friendly, relaxed lifestyles and our affinity with the natural world is evident in our environment. We share parent's aspirations for their children to enjoy an early childhood education experience that reflects the community in which they are raised and we warmly welcome children, parents and caregivers into our centre.
We welcome enquiries from parents who are interested in place sharing or accessing less than 5 days per week.

Our Session Times Are:
Mon to Fri               8:30am to 12:45pm
Mon Tue Thu & Fri   8:30am to 2:30pm

Our Staff to Child Ratio:
We have a ratio of 1 teacher to 10 children, with additional non teaching support as well.

Te Awanga Philosophy:

At Te Awanga Kindergarten we value each child and aim to provide an environment in which children’s individuality is respected and opportunities are provided to enable children to become enquiring and creative learners.

Our Favourite 2009 ERO Comment:
A powerful centre philosophy is reflected in the way children’s creativity develops through a range of experiences and interactions with adults and peers. Children also engage in many different, meaningful activities to develop and extend their literacy knowledge and skills.

Testimonial:

"Our son has developed and improved in his confidence, social skills and personality so much which is due to the Te Awanga kindergartens teachers, skills and caring. All the children are like a big happy family in the environment created for them by their parents and the teachers. Our son is very fortunate to be a part of this family and to be looked after and learn from such caring and dedicated teachers; we thank you sincerely."
